My Story
The short story:
OWU played a critical role in my ongoing journey to deeper self-awareness and spiritual development. Once I got through the drugs and party phase, which was the first 3 years, I started my spiritual journey.
I learned how to meditate in the Fall of 1972 and then, upon graduation, began a 10-year experience of following an Indian guru, Prem Rawat, and living in ashrams throughout the U.S.A.
Me and Brad Brown, a Beta fraternity brother, opened one of the first natural foods stores in Boston in 1974. I did the same in Atlanta and Chicago and then became a community organizer for Rawat in Houston and Philadelphia. Then I was asked to be a meditation instructor and traveled the world for the next 3 years until I became the President of the corporation that sponsored Rawat's global activities.
I lived in Miami for 3 years, married my secretary in 1985, moved to Philadelphia, had two children, and began working in the mainstream as a consultant, salesperson, and VP of sales for a leadership development company. After 18 years, I worked for two other consultancies and, in 2016, met my current wife, who is Scottish.
I retired from full-time corp America in 2017, started my coaching and leadership practice, moved to Scotland, and now I'm about to publish my first book.
It's been a journey, and I've been blessed so far with good health, wonderful children, and many incredible experiences.
It all started when I walked the OWU campus, searching for greater meaning in life, and I'm still on the journey.
