EASTHAM - Thomas Williamson, 56, also of Brunswick, Maine, died July 15 after an arduous fight against cancer.
Mr. Williamson was born and raised in Saddle River, N.J. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. He had a lifelong love for guitars and music and became a professional luthier, or guitar maker. He was widely recognized for his beautiful workmanship and the infinite care he took in perfecting each instrument. His guitars are used on many studio productions and can be heard on WGBH and several recent Disney features.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his mother, Lucetta Williamson of Eastham; his brother, Bob Williamson of Orleans; three sisters, Susan Klein of Boston, Lee Blount of Bow, N.H., and Joan Reese of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 25, at Federated Church in Orleans. All are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the Massachusetts General GI Cancer Fund, MGH Development Office, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
