Joseph A. Talbert, age 49, truly beloved husband, father, son, and brother. Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at home. Born January 5, 1951, in Houston. Assistant Director, West European Studies Program, Ohio State University, he also taught history at Ohio State and the Pontifical College Josephinum from 1991—1998. Attended Ohio Wesleyan and Ohio State Universities, where he was an honors graduate. Member of Phi Beta Kappa and recipient of numerous academic distinctions, he pursued master’s and doctoral programs in modern European history. Joseph’s generosity of spirit, scope of intellect, humility, grace, and wit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
