Sarah "Sally" A. Bittaker (Williamson)

Sarah (Sally) A. Williamson died Sunday, August 12th, 2012.

Born January 7, 1952 in Akron, Sally was a longtime resident in Medina where she actively pursued her interest as an avid dog lover and horsewoman.

Sally was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and later St. Louis University where she earned her Masters in Social Work in hopes of making the world a better place. She dedicated her life as a volunteer in support of many causes dear to her including various support groups for AIDS organizations, Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, The Salvation Army, and Stewart's Caring Place, which provides free services for people with cancer and their families.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Steven G. Williamson of Medina; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Thomas Plant of Sewickley, Pa.; niece, Katharine E. Parhamovich of Hudson; and nephew, Charles E. Plant of Stow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Bittaker and Joan Pflueger Bittaker of Akron, Ohio.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Happy Trails Horse Rescue, Mental Health America or Planet AID-Girls Bridge Schools Rajasthan.
