Ellie Lee, of Waltham, Mass., South Bristol, and Ramrod Key, Fla., died on July 18, 2009, surrounded by her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and memories.
She was the third daughter of Elisha and Beatrice Lee and was born on Nov. 23, 1951, in Montclair, N.J. She graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Penn. and from Ohio Wesleyan University, Class of 1973, where she majored in music.
For 32 years, she was employed by ABT Associates in Cambridge, Mass. and was a Lead Programmer Analyst.
She was a writer, composer, and lyricist. Her musical play, “Conflict of Interest”, was showcased by the National Alliance for Musical Theater. Ellie was also a published short story writer. She brought much joy to her family and friends with her singing and guitar playing and was well known for her special gift of writing whimsical songs and poems for special occasions. Ellie was also an enthusiastic sports participant and a passionate fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
She leaves behind her partner, Debra Severo; sisters, Carolyn Nutter and husband John of Glen Mills, Penn., and Susan Blodgett and husband Brad of Sugar Land, Tex.; nephews, Lee Blodgett and wife Jennifer, and Scott Nutter and fiancée Amy Madigan; nieces, Susan Nutter and Brooke Blodgett; great-niece and nephew; close friend, Melissa Brown; and cherished cousins and friends.
Ellie always focused on the joys of her life and as the end drew near, she continued to give strength to her loved ones, and peacefully left us in Maine, her heaven on earth.
Memorial service 2:30 p.m., Sat., July 25 at the Union Congregational Church in South Bristol.
