Nancy W. Freeman passed peacefully in her home on March 14, 2013. She was born in 1951 and was raised by her mother, Nancy B. White, in Cranford, NJ. She received a Bachelor of Science from Ohio Wesleyan University, and happily married Richard J. Freeman the summer after graduation. After working as a lab technician for several years, she earned a Master of Science in Food Science at Ohio State University and worked as a food technologist.
With the arrival of daughter Adrienne and son Rick she became a "stay-at-home" Mom who rarely stayed home. She volunteered for the PTA and other educational groups. When the children graduated from high school, she graduated too, volunteering at local Humane Societies, rural fire departments and the Red Cross.
She lived 5 glorious years after her first cancer operation and became a role model to many for her living life to the maximum, while continually battling the cancer. She was very thankful for the help from the great medical teams at Cancer Care Northwest, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Spokane Hospice.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Richard Freeman, daughter Adrienne, son Rick (Amy), brother-in-law Peter (Madlen) Freeman, brother Ed (Judy) White and various furry companions.
A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Colbert, WA at 11AM on Monday March 18, 2013. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to the Spokane Humane Society. August 14, 1951 - March 14, 2013.
