Stephen Harding Butler

Stephen Harding Butler, age 72, of Johnson, City, Tennessee, bit the dust on Friday, December 1, 2023, at NHC Healthcare after a stroke.

Stephen was born February 25, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University where he earned a bachelor's degree. His passion was arts and theatre. He worked as a stagehand for many years all over the place, even on Broadway in New York City. Stephen also served as a pastor for many years. His ministry is what brought him to east Tennessee.

Stephen enjoyed smoking his pipe and his ganja, he loved to travel especially to Europe and Ireland, and he loved comedy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jan, in 2018; his parents; and several siblings.

Left to cherish his memory includes his very best friend, Brandon Davis.

There will be no public services at this time.
